Understanding Our Points System

Offensive Strategy

When building your team, consider that power hitters who hit home runs will earn more points per hit than contact hitters who primarily hit singles. However, consistent contact hitters may accumulate more total points over time.

Players who steal bases frequently can be valuable additions to your team, as stolen bases earn a significant +2 points each. Look for players who combine power with speed for maximum point potential.

Pitching Strategy

Starting pitchers who consistently pitch many innings and record strikeouts will earn a steady stream of points. Elite pitchers who can secure wins and quality starts are extremely valuable.

Relief pitchers who earn saves can be worth including in your roster, as saves earn the same points as wins (+5). However, they typically pitch fewer innings than starters, so balance is key.

Weekly vs. Season-Long Points

Weekly Tournaments

In weekly tournaments, points are accumulated only during the specified week. This format rewards managers who can identify hot streaks and favorable matchups. Pay attention to the schedule and stadium factors that might affect performance.

Season-Long Leagues

Season-long leagues accumulate points throughout the entire MLB season. This format rewards managers who select consistently productive players rather than those who might have short hot streaks.

Point System Tips

Balance Risk and Reward

Players who strike out frequently may earn negative points, but they often hit more home runs. Calculate the net point value when selecting high-risk, high-reward players.

Monitor Matchups

Some players perform better against certain pitchers or at specific ballparks. Use this knowledge to your advantage when selecting your weekly lineups.
